Khmer culinary art in the spotlight in the newspaper Le Monde

Stéphane Davet, culinary journalist at Le Monde since 1991, spent almost a week in Cambodia at the beginning of February to discover Khmer gastronomy in all its aspects. He will devote a full page to it in the leading French daily during the course of this month.

A veritable culinary encyclopedia, with a very extensive address book, an insatiable curiosity, as comfortable in a market sitting on a small stool as in front of a gourmet dish, Stéphane Davet plunged with delight, greed and respect into the heritage Cambodian cuisine.

Between two lunches and dinners at the best tables in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, the journalist met many specialists in gastronomy and local products, including Dr. Hay Ly Eang who revealed to him all the secrets of Kampot pepper .
